A 79-year-old driver, three 4-year-old children and another adult were taken to area hospitals after a vehicle struck Tattle Tales Learning Center in Orlando on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The crash happened at about 2:58 p.m. near Pine Hills Road and Elinore Drive in Orange County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver, an Orlando man, was traveling in the outside southbound lane of Pine Hills Road in a 2003 Honda CR-V. The vehicle left the roadway, crossed into the northbound lanes and struck the daycare. Authorities had not determined why it went off the road. The Orlando Fire Department reported that everyone involved was in good condition. Specific injuries were not reported. There were 14 people inside the building when the crash occurred. Teachers and first responders helped people reach safety and comforted the children following the impact. A battalion chief with Orange County Fire Rescue said initial reports indicated that one child was beneath the vehicle. The child had been pulled out before those crews arrived and received treatment, the chief said. A teacher described hearing a loud bang while preparing her students to wake from their naps. She said children were frightened and asking for their mothers afterward. Orange County determined that the building was unsafe to occupy after the collision. The damaged portion of the daycare was boarded up. The Florida Highway Patrol was investigating the cause of the crash.
People affected by the Pine Hills Road daycare crash in Orlando can retain medical records, expense receipts and insurance correspondence. A crash report may help document the incident, and a qualified Florida attorney can address questions about insurance coverage or the claims process.
