Panama City police officers responded to the 3700 block of Highway 231 around 9:15 a.m. Authorities identified that as the response time, not the time of the collision.

Shores was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Police had not announced a determination of legal fault in the supplied report.
The Panama City Police Department was continuing to investigate the collision at the time of the report. With the Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally underway, police also urged drivers to remain alert and exercise caution amid increased traffic.
