Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026, at Drayton Street and County Line Road in Pasco County.
According to the initial crash report, a 61-year-old Spring Hill woman was driving a Kia Soul north on Drayton Street before attempting to turn left onto County Line Road. A Ford E350 van driven by a 40-year-old Brooksville man was traveling east on County Line Road at the same time.
Investigators said the Kia entered the path of the van, and the vehicles collided in the intersection. The woman was taken to a hospital after the crash and later died from her injuries. The van driver was not reported to have suffered serious injuries.
The reports available so far did not identify any additional contributing factors beyond the initial account of the turn movement and collision. Officials had not released further findings about impairment, speed, roadway conditions, or possible citations. No roadway closure details were included in the public reports.
Because the crash happened at an intersection, the final report may clarify vehicle positions, direction of travel, witness statements, and any conclusions investigators reach after reviewing the scene. Families affected by a deadly crash may also need to preserve medical records, insurance notices, vehicle documentation, and photographs while the investigation continues.
We are saddened for everyone affected by this fatal car accident at Drayton Street and County Line Road in Pasco County.
