Authorities said the collision happened around 12:20 p.m. on June 1 at the intersection, where a Honda CR-V was traveling north on Lockhart Road and a Ford F-250 pickup was heading east on State Road 50. Investigators said the Honda entered the intersection and was struck by the pickup.
Emergency responders took the 74-year-old Brooksville woman who was driving the Honda to an area hospital. She later died from her injuries, according to authorities. The 35-year-old Spring Hill man driving the Ford sustained minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital.
