Two women died in a single-vehicle crash in Downingtown on Sunday afternoon, September 6, 2026.
According to authorities, the crash happened around 12:06 p.m. on the unit block of East Lancaster Avenue near the Downingtown Log House. Police said the women were traveling in a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee when the vehicle was heading east on East Lancaster Avenue, went off the road, and crashed into a concrete retention wall.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities also said both women died in the crash. Their identities were not immediately released.
Part of East Lancaster Avenue remained closed for several hours while police investigated the scene. Officials have not released additional details about what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
