A fatal three-vehicle crash shut down part of I-95 North near the 45th Street exit in Riviera Beach late Sunday night, leaving one man dead and three other people with minor injuries.
Authorities said the wreck happened at about 11:20 p.m. on August 2. The crash involved a Cadillac, a BMW, and a Nissan Rogue in the northbound lanes of the interstate. Investigators reported that the Cadillac was stopped in an outside center lane when the BMW, traveling behind it, collided with the rear of the car. The Nissan Rogue then also struck the Cadillac.
The Cadillac driver, a 28-year-old man from West Palm Beach, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Officials have not publicly released his name. Three other people were reported to have suffered minor injuries.
Traffic in the area was affected for several hours as troopers worked the scene and investigated the crash. According to reports, lanes reopened around 3:40 a.m. Monday.
