A fatal crash was reported early Monday on Interstate 95 near mile marker 204, south of State Road 528, in Brevard County, FL. Authorities said the crash happened at about 1:05 a.m. on May 25, 2026, and involved a southbound 2018 Infiniti Q50 and a second passenger vehicle traveling behind it.
The Infiniti was being driven by a 24-year-old Rockledge man, whose name had not been publicly released pending family notification. Investigators said the Infiniti was southbound in the center lane when it left the travel lanes for reasons that had not been determined, went onto the inside paved shoulder, and hit a guardrail.
Debris from that impact struck a 2026 Volkswagen Taos that was also traveling southbound behind the Infiniti. The Volkswagen driver was identified as Cynthia Willis, 49, of Palm Coast. A 4-year-old girl was also in the Volkswagen. Authorities said neither Willis nor the child was injured.
The Infiniti driver was pronounced dead at the scene. After the crash, authorities said Willis was arrested for DUI and booked into the Brevard County Jail. Officials did not state that the arrest explained why the Infiniti left the roadway, and the crash remained under investigation.
No closure details or additional injuries were included in the available reports. Investigators are expected to review the vehicle damage, roadway evidence, and other information before making any final findings about the sequence of events.
For families and others affected by a fatal I-95 crash, it can be important to keep copies of the crash report, insurance communications, photos, and any medical or vehicle records. Those records may help clarify what investigators determined and what questions remain while the official review continues.
We are deeply concerned for the family of the 24-year-old Rockledge man who died in this Brevard County crash, and for everyone who was affected by the events on I-95 near State Road 528. Fatal crash investigations can leave families with difficult questions about reports, insurance issues, vehicle damage, and what official findings may later show. If your family was affected by this accident, consider saving the crash report when it becomes available, any correspondence from insurers, photos, repair or towing records, and notes about communications with investigators. Speaking with a local law firm can also help families understand their options without making rushed decisions while the investigation is still open.
