Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that happened early Monday morning on the westbound side of State Road 528 near Universal Boulevard in Orange County.
Reported details indicate the crash happened at about 4:37 a.m. when a Honda Civic traveling westbound left the roadway. Investigators said the car struck a light pole and multiple trees before overturning near the Epic Universe exit area.
The driver, a 23-year-old man from Mililani, Hawaii, was taken from the scene and later pronounced dead. A 20-year-old passenger from Willow Street, Pennsylvania, was also hurt and taken to a hospital with injuries described in reports as not life-threatening.
