A 34-year-old Polk City man died in a motorcycle crash on Mount Olive Road in Polk City on Aug. 12.
According to authorities, the crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. west of Sarah Drive. The man was riding a Honda CBR600RR east on Mount Olive Road when he attempted to pass a Kia Forte that was also traveling east. During the passing attempt, the motorcycle collided with the Kia.
After the impact, the motorcycle went onto the shoulder and continued until it struck a house at 5212 Mount Olive Road. The motorcyclist died at the scene.
The Kia driver, a 20-year-old Polk City woman, was not injured.
