Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened Friday morning on State Road 60 near Clarence Gordon Jr Road in eastern Hillsborough County.
According to officials, the collision occurred at about 6:45 a.m. when a GMC Sierra was pulling out from a private driveway and entered the path of a westbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The pickup and motorcycle then collided on SR 60.
The motorcyclist, identified only as a 44-year-old Bartow man, died at the scene. No other injuries were detailed in the reports that have been released so far.
Authorities said the driver of the GMC, a 59-year-old Mulberry man, was later arrested on a DUI manslaughter charge. Reports indicate investigators measured his blood alcohol content at 0.170.
