An 80-year-old man was killed Saturday night after a pedestrian crash on Hawaiian Court in Orange County, according to authorities.
The collision happened around 8:26 p.m. Officials said the man was struck by a 2026 GMC Yukon as the SUV was traveling eastbound from a private driveway and attempting to turn left onto Hawaiian Court. At the same time, the pedestrian was walking westbound across the northbound lane of Hawaiian Court outside a marked crosswalk.
Authorities said the pedestrian was taken to Dr. Phillips Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was identified only as an 80-year-old man from Mansfield, Ohio.
The driver of the GMC Yukon was not injured and remained at the scene, according to investigators.
No additional injuries were reported in the crash. Authorities have not announced any charges or released further findings about the investigation.
