Investigators in Palm Springs are looking for the driver of an SUV after a man was fatally struck early June 20 on Kirk Road, just south of Lake Worth Road.
Authorities said the crash happened in the 4100 block of Kirk Road at about 12:08 a.m. The man was reportedly walking in the roadway when an SUV hit him. Police had not publicly identified him as of June 22.
Traffic camera footage reportedly showed a white-over-beige Toyota Highlander, believed to be a 2002 to 2007 model, involved in the collision. After the impact, the SUV was seen continuing westbound on Lake Worth Road, according to authorities. Investigators said the vehicle is expected to have damage on the front passenger side.
Officials have not said whether the man was in a crosswalk at the time, and the vehicle's speed has not been released. No charges or arrest had been announced in the case as of the latest public update, and the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
