A 6-year-old boy was killed in a pedestrian crash on October 19, 2026, in the 100 block of Shipton Street outside Mifflinburg Elementary School in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania.
According to the Mifflinburg Police Department, a driver was headed west in a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado when the boy attempted to cross the street. Police said an eastbound vehicle had passed before the child began crossing.
Investigators examined video provided by the Mifflinburg Area School District as part of their review. Police said they found that speed did not contribute to the collision.
Pennsylvania State Police and the Union County District Attorney’s Office assisted with the investigation. After completing the review, Mifflinburg police announced that the driver would not face charges in connection with the crash.
The department expressed sympathy for the child’s family and the driver and recognized the loss felt by the community. Police also asked the public to give those affected privacy as they grieve.
Families dealing with a pedestrian crash in Mifflinburg can keep copies of police reports and insurance correspondence for their records. A qualified Pennsylvania attorney can explain how investigative findings may relate to insurance or civil questions based on the circumstances.
