The crash happened at about 11 a.m. near mile marker 68 on I-10, also designated State Road 8. According to authorities, the tractor-trailer left the roadway, traveled onto the south shoulder and struck a tree. Walton County Fire Rescue crews found the passenger, a 41-year-old man from Gaffney, South Carolina, inside the truck’s cab. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
