A 38-year-old Kissimmee man died after a crash involving a Toyota Corolla and a semi-truck at US 17/92 and Sunny Acres Road in Davenport on June 13, according to authorities. The collision was reported at about 2:30 p.m. near the intersection just north of Ernie Caldwell Boulevard.
Investigators said the semi-truck was traveling south on US 17/92 when the oncoming Corolla was seen drifting across the center line more than once. The driver of the Corolla was identified as Joel Nelson, 38, of Kissimmee. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities said both drivers were wearing seat belts.
