John Emory Shuttz, a 75-year-old Kingman man, died in a UTV rollover at Hualapai Mountain Park in Arizona, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. Details of the crash were reported on October 27, 2026.
Shuttz was driving among a group of UTVs traveling from Soap Canyon toward the park. Authorities described the route as a narrow trail with rocky terrain. His UTV left the trail and rolled roughly 200 feet down the mountainside into a ravine.
Deputies and Mohave Park rangers responded after receiving reports that a UTV had gone off the trail. Search and rescue personnel also responded, facing steep terrain that complicated access to the vehicle.
Crews used a technical rope system to reach the UTV. They located Shuttz farther down the ravine, where he was found dead.
His body was recovered and taken to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office. That office will determine the cause of death.
