Authorities said five people suffered life threatening injuries in a two-car crash Thursday night near Landstar Boulevard and Iowa Woods Circle in the Meadow Woods area of Orange County.
The crash involved a Subaru Outback and a Honda Civic. Based on the reported preliminary investigation, the Subaru was at the stop sign on Iowa Woods Circle and was attempting to turn left onto Landstar Boulevard when it entered the path of the Honda, which was traveling on Landstar Boulevard.
Officials said the Honda was driven by a 19-year-old Orlando man and carried two passengers, ages 18 and 20. All three were reported to have life threatening injuries. Authorities also said all five people involved in the crash were critically injured and taken to the hospital, indicating the two people in the Subaru were also seriously hurt.
First responders reported that one of the vehicles caught fire after the collision. Three people were trapped and had to be rescued from the wreckage before they could be transported for medical care.
