Michael Alexander, Jr., 36, of Bryans Road, Maryland, died in a motorcycle crash in Waldorf, Charles County, on Thursday, October 29, 2026. A second person, the driver of a Ford Taurus, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The severity of those injuries was not reported.
Troopers assigned to the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack responded at 10:34 p.m. to a report of a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Maryland Route 228 and Greenwood Drive.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Alexander was operating a Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Route 228. The Ford Taurus was approaching from the opposite direction on eastbound Route 228, and its driver was attempting to turn left onto Greenwood Drive. Police said the Suzuki collided with the Taurus as the car was making the turn.
The force of the collision sent the Taurus farther along Greenwood Drive, according to investigators. It then struck a Toyota Highlander that was parked in a residential driveway before also striking the residence.
Police believe excessive speed may have contributed to the crash. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation, which remains active.
Charles County Sheriff's Office deputies assisted troopers at the scene, along with personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration. Lanes were closed for more than two hours to allow investigators to examine the crash.
Anyone who has information related to the collision is asked to contact Sergeant Justin Zimmerman with the Maryland State Police at 301-392-1231.
