Five people were injured when a Chevrolet GMT and a Honda CR-V collided at Route 50 and First Street in Cambridge, Maryland, late Monday morning, October 26, 2026. Two patients were flown to a trauma center, while three others were taken to a hospital by ambulance.
Maryland State Police troopers from the Easton Barrack responded to the intersection. In their preliminary account, the Chevrolet was traveling east on Route 50 and its driver attempted a left turn onto First Street. The Honda was approaching from the opposite direction in the westbound lanes.
A state police spokesperson said the Chevrolet failed to yield and the Honda struck its passenger-side door. Investigators had not announced a final determination beyond that preliminary description.
The Chevrolet's driver and a Honda passenger were transported by helicopter to a regional trauma center. The Honda driver and two juvenile passengers were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The State Highway Administration helped with the road closure, which lasted about two hours. State police said their investigation remained active.
