A 35-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash just before 6 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Northwest 7th Avenue and 27th Street in Miami’s Allapattah neighborhood. The driver left without stopping to help.
Surveillance cameras at Luxury Custom Garage recorded the collision. The man was crossing the street while pushing an electric scooter, accompanied by a woman with a bicycle. A dark-colored vehicle struck him and continued away from the scene.
A Miami Police officer was refueling a patrol car at a gas station across the street when the collision occurred. Police spokesperson Michael Vega said the officer heard tires screech, followed by the impact, and then saw the man falling to the ground.
Miami Fire Rescue transported the man to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was unconscious but breathing when taken for treatment. Despite his critical condition at the time of transport, authorities said they expected him to recover.
Authorities were looking for a black or very dark sedan or SUV with substantial damage to its front end and windshield. The vehicle description remained broad, with either body style identified as a possibility.
Garage owner Nelson Agustín shared the surveillance video in hopes that someone would recognize the vehicle or the person driving it. Vega also urged the driver to come forward.
Anyone with information about the crash, vehicle or driver can contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers anonymously at (305) 471-8477. A reward of up to $5,000 may be available for information in the case.
