BENTON CO., Wash. -- Two men tragically lost their lives in an ATV crash late Sunday night, November 10. The Benton County Coroner has identified the deceased as Zachariah Hayne, 42, of Kennewick, and Jason Moreland, 49, of Finley. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Dague Road, where it appears that Hayne was riding an ATV and Moreland was on a motorbike when they collided head-on. The impact was severe enough to throw both riders from their vehicles, and the motorbike subsequently caught fire.
Emergency responders, including the Benton County Sheriff's Office and Benton County Fire District #1, arrived on the scene but were unable to save either man, who succumbed to their injuries right away. The Coroner's Office has reported that both individuals died from blunt force trauma, with no autopsies planned at this time.
