Three people tragically lost their lives in a collision involving two pickup trucks on State Road 29 in Glades County on October 30. The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. near Chaparral Avenue, disrupting traffic on the busy roadway. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 37-year-old man from Lehigh Acres was driving a pickup truck northbound, while a second pickup towing a trailer was traveling southbound, operated by a 40-year-old man from Haines City.
Witnesses reported that the driver of the northbound pickup crossed the centerline, leading to a head-on collision with the southbound vehicle. The impact was devastating, instantly killing the Lehigh Acres driver and a 24-year-old LaBelle man who was a passenger in his vehicle.
