Two men were taken to Delray Medical Center after a truck and a Ford rolled over on Florida’s Turnpike in Delray Beach, Florida, on Friday, November 6, 2026. A separate collision in the southbound lanes also drew emergency crews, and traffic was stopped in both directions while responders worked at the scene.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said crews responded to the crash scene at 10:55 a.m. Friday morning. The incidents were reported about half a mile south of the Atlantic Avenue exit. The northbound rollover occurred near mile marker 81.
The Florida Highway Patrol identified the vehicles in the northbound crash as a white 2017 truck and a gray 2022 Ford. According to troopers, the driver of the white truck was attempting to move into another lane, causing the Ford to roll over as well. Firefighters found the truck resting on its side in the northbound lanes.
Troopers said the two men had been partially ejected during the northbound rollover and were expected to survive. Their names and ages were not reported, and the severity of their injuries was not specified.
The first 911 caller described a truck rollover on the northbound side of the highway, according to fire rescue. Additional callers, however, gave dispatchers a different location, reporting a crash in the southbound lanes. Responding units found vehicles involved in crashes on both sides of the Turnpike.
In the southbound breakdown lane, firefighters found two cars with moderate damage. Two people involved in that collision were evaluated, and one met trauma alert criteria, fire rescue said. It was not clear whether the southbound crash was connected to the rollover or whether distraction from the northbound incident played a role.
The truck was carrying used cooking grease, some of which spilled onto the roadway, according to the highway patrol. Firefighters applied foam to break down the grease on the pavement.
All northbound and southbound lanes were closed during the response. Fire rescue said it turned the scene over to the highway patrol shortly after 1 p.m. Troopers said both vehicles from the northbound crash were towed and the truck driver was cited. The citation itself was not described, and no specific traffic violation was identified in the report. By 3:30 p.m. that Friday afternoon, all northbound and southbound travel lanes had reopened.
Records from a Delray Beach crash, including the official crash report, medical records and insurance correspondence, can help document what happened and any resulting expenses. A qualified attorney can explain how Florida law may apply to individual circumstances without guaranteeing fault findings or an outcome.
