Caleb E. Park, a 21-year-old NYPD recruit, died following a motorcycle crash on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in Briarwood, NY. The crash occurred on the entrance ramp connecting the eastbound Jackie Robinson Parkway to the northbound Van Wyck Expressway, according to police.
Officers from the NYPD’s 107th Precinct responded to a 911 report of a motor vehicle collision at about 6 a.m. and found Park on the roadway.
Investigators determined that Park was riding a 2008 Triumph Street Triple when he lost control on the ramp. The motorcycle struck the cement barrier along the right side, and Park was thrown from the bike, police said.
Emergency medical personnel transported Park to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Park lived in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn and was traveling to the Detective Steven D. McDonald Police Academy in College Point. He held the rank of probationary police officer and had joined the NYPD in July. His assignment was with the Recruit Training Section at the academy.
The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad was continuing to investigate the crash. No arrests had been reported.
After a fatal motorcycle crash in Briarwood, family members may need police collision reports and relevant insurance documents. A qualified New York attorney can explain how those records may relate to an individual claim.
