Caleb Park, a 21-year-old NYPD recruit from Brooklyn, died after a motorcycle crash on the entrance ramp connecting the Van Wyck Expressway to the Jackie Robinson Parkway in Queens, according to police. The fatal crash was reported on October 23, 2026.
Police described the crash as happening around 6 a.m. Wednesday. Park was riding a 2008 Triumph Street Triple when he lost control and struck a concrete barrier on the ramp.
Investigators said the collision threw Park from the motorcycle onto the roadway. Paramedics transported him to Jamaica Hospital, where he later died.
Park was off duty at the time of the crash, according to a statement from New York City Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry. His career with the NYPD was just beginning.
Hendry expressed sympathy for Park’s family and said the recruit would be remembered by those who trained alongside him at the Police Academy. He also pledged the association’s continued support for the family.
After a fatal motorcycle crash in Queens, families may need the police crash report, medical records and insurance correspondence. A qualified New York attorney can explain relevant documentation requirements and any applicable legal deadlines without presuming fault or a particular outcome.
