A wrong-way crash on State Road 33 in Lake County left one man dead and three other men with serious injuries early Sunday morning, authorities said. The collision happened near Bakers Lane at about 6:20 a.m. on June 14.
Reports indicate a Toyota Camry was traveling north in the southbound lanes of SR 33 as it approached the Bakers Lane area. At the same time, a Dodge Journey was heading south in the proper lane. The two vehicles then collided head-on on the highway.
The 24-year-old driver of the Toyota, an Orlando man, died at the scene. Three other people were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries: a 25-year-old Orlando man, a 23-year-old Oviedo man, and a 33-year-old Kissimmee man. Authorities said the Dodge became partially engulfed in flames after the impact.
