A tragic accident occurred in Huntington Beach, resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to three others, including two Orange County probation officers. The crash took place at the intersection of Heil Avenue and Goldenwest Street on a Tuesday afternoon, shortly before 3 p.m. According to law enforcement, a gray Tesla Model 3, traveling eastbound at a high speed, lost control upon reaching the intersection, colliding with several vehicles before rolling over multiple times. The vehicle came to rest approximately 150 yards from the intersection.
Seven vehicles were involved in the collision, with debris from the impact damaging additional cars in the area. Dashcam footage captured the moment the Tesla careened into another vehicle, with one witness describing the car as "flying" through the intersection at an alarming speed. The driver of the Tesla, identified as 37-year-old Ryan Mark Larson of Huntington Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations have not determined whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the incident.
Among the injured were two probation officers whose vehicle was struck during the crash. One of the officers required hospitalization, while all three injured individuals were reported to be in stable condition.
