Local reports indicate the collision was reported at about 8:49 p.m. on June 10. Investigators said a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling eastbound on West Sample Road as it approached Northwest Fifth Terrace when it struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was identified as Youseline Simonvil. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Simonvil dead there, according to authorities.
