Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened Wednesday night at West Sample Road and Northwest Fifth Terrace in Pompano Beach.
Local reports indicate the collision was reported at about 8:49 p.m. on June 10. Investigators said a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling eastbound on West Sample Road as it approached Northwest Fifth Terrace when it struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was identified as Youseline Simonvil. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Simonvil dead there, according to authorities.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges or additional findings were announced in the initial reports, and the Broward Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing to review the circumstances of the crash.
