Two individuals tragically lost their lives following a severe crash in Ripley County, Indiana. The incident occurred on a Tuesday afternoon, around 2:00 to 3:00 PM, along US-421 near West County Road and County Road 100 North. The crash involved a dump truck, driven by 24-year-old Nathan M. Vogelsang from Dillsboro, Indiana, and a semi tractor-trailer driven by Oleh Hrudnenko, age 34, from Buffalo, Illinois.
According to officials from the Indiana State Police, the dump truck was heading southbound when the driver, Vogelsang, lost control and crossed into the northbound lane. This resulted in a nearly head-on collision with the semi-truck. Unfortunately, both Vogelsang and his passenger, 19-year-old Landen J. W. Comer from Osgood, Indiana, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Ripley County Coroner’s Office.
