Delaware State Police identified Hewitt Allaband Jr., 63, of Felton, as the driver killed in a single-vehicle crash on Spectrum Farms Road in Felton, Delaware. The crash occurred at 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
According to the agency's preliminary investigation, Allaband was traveling west in a Chevrolet Silverado on Spectrum Farms Road. He was east of Spider Web Road when the pickup left the south side of the roadway. The Silverado went into a deep ditch and collided with a tree.
Allaband was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was not properly restrained.
The roadway was closed for approximately three hours following the early-morning crash as investigators worked at the scene and the area was cleared. State police said the crash remains under investigation. Their preliminary account did not identify what caused the pickup to leave the road.
