The incident started around 9:30 a.m. when officers attempted to pull over 27-year-old Anthony Winters, of Pittsfield, for civil traffic infractions in the vicinity of West and Edwin Streets. The pursuit continued along West Street and onto Jason Street, where Winters lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a utility pole.
