A woman from Big Lake, aged 40, tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle crash that occurred early Wednesday morning on Highway 10. The Minnesota State Patrol reports that the incident happened around 7:40 a.m. when the victim, identified as Danielle Hayes, was trying to cross the highway at the intersection of 172nd Street Northwest. At that moment, a 25-year-old man from Elk River, driving a Ford Fusion westbound, collided with Hayes’ Nissan Altima.
Emergency services promptly responded, and Hayes was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.
