Fatal Collision Involving Semi-Truck And Honda Accord In Thousand Oaks on October 24, 2024

Two people have tragically died, and two others sustained injuries following a severe collision involving a semi-truck and a 2016 Honda Accord on southbound Highway 101 in Newbury Park early Thursday morning, October 31. Initial responses indicated that the Honda was traveling at high speeds before veering off the road and striking the parked big rig, which was situated on the right shoulder.

The accident left the Honda overturned approximately 500 feet from the point of impact with the semi. Emergency responders discovered the bodies of a male and a female passenger in the brush next to the highway, both pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries. The identified driver, a 19-year-old man from Pico Rivera, was also ejected from the vehicle but survived with injuries that required immediate medical attention. A third passenger, aged 20 and from Castaic, was trapped in the wreckage and was rescued by firefighters, sustaining moderate injuries.
